Weight Prejudice: Myths and Facts

Thank you Yale Rudd Center.  What a wonderful video high-lighting the unfortunate prejudice that can occur towards people who are perceived to be larger.

  2. She did a great job with this. I wonder what grade she got. I hope an A!

    I agree with her point about weight prejudice. Overweight and obese people are stigmatized in our culture. I thought she leaned a bit too far towards the genetic component though. Body weight is more complex than eye color. Eye color can't be changed. But she did note this complexity.

  3. I agree Bix, but I think the most important message did get through. Prejudice against overweight and obese people is rampant in this country and not every situation is due to lack of exercise and overeating. What I've found working with my weight loss patients is that they beat themselves up enough without the help of the outside world!
