There is no doubt that produce
can be expensive, depending on where, when and what you buy. Conventionally grown fruits and veggies purchased at a major chain grocery store will be cheaper than buying organic from your local co-op.
What can you, the budget-conscious consumer, do to get the best bang for your buck?
Buy at the Farmer's Market of course!
I got all this produce for $20 in mid-July. It's not all certified organic but it is all pesticide free.
And it tastes good!
